In this paper, prevention and control measures applicable to these parasites are reviewed, emphasizing the importance of thorough cooking and freezing, as well as risks derived from eating salted and pickled raw fish products. Decontamination procedures such as irradiation and ozonization and methods for the detection of parasites in fish products are also discussed.
