Summary
The paper presents a comparative analysis of a test results of the 8 foot long single deck display case when refrigerated with R404A (in DX mode) and single-phase secondary refrigerants at low temperatures (-15 to -30 °C, for frozen food and ice cream). Test is performed according to ASHRAE Standard 72. Results verify better performance of the display case when refrigerated by secondary coolants. Analysis of test results reveals more uniform product temperature and frost formation, as well as more efficient defrost.
