PERFORMANCE OF REFRIGERANT COOLED SOLAR COLLECTOR OF A TWO-PHASE THERMOSIPHON LOOP HEAT EXCHANGER.

Author(s) : MATHUR G. D.

Summary

THE PERFORMANCE OF THE SOLAR COLLECTOR HAS BEEN SIMULATED BY USING THE ACTUAL WEATHER DATA. THE EFFECT OF THE TILT ANGLE OF THE SOLAR COLLECTOR, NUMBER OF GLASS COVERS, DIFFERENT WIND VELOCITIES, AND THE AMOUNT OF CHARGE IN THE TUBES IS INVESTIGATED. THE WORKING FLUID USED IS R11. THE STUDY REVEALS THAT GOOD COLLECTOR EFFICIENCIES CAN BE ACHIEVED AND THE SYSTEM CAN EFFECTIVELY BE USED FOR HOT WATER HEATING.
