Performance tests of some HFC-hydrocarbon mixtures to replace R502.

Summary

The three refrigerant mixtures R32-R125-R143a (10-50-40), R125-R143a-R290 (50-45-5) and R125-R143a-C270 (50-45-5) were analysed as alternatives to R502 in commercial refrigeration. The preliminary results of tests concern the mixtures' behaviour with lubricant oil (measuring the critical solution temperatures with the cloudy-point procedure) and how their use affected the performance of a refrigerated display cabinet.
