PLASTIC INDIVIDUAL SEAL-PACKAGING OF SPANISH CITRUS FRUIT.

Summary

THE AUTHORS CARRIED OUT A SERIES OF EXPERIMENTS IN ORDER TO OBSERVE THE CONSEQUENCES OF THE APPLICATION OF DIFFERENT PLASTIC PACKAGINGS ON WEIGHT LOSS AND INTERNAL GAS CONCENTRATION. THEY ALSO CONSIDERED THE PHYSIOLOGICAL AND PATHOLOGICAL DISORDERS OF VALENCIA AND NAVEL ORANGES UNDER DIFFERENT MARKETING CONDITIONS. THE RESULTS SHOW THAT PLASTIC PACKAGINGS, COMBINED WITH A FUNGICIDE, DECREASE WEIGHT LOSS WITHOUT REDUCING GAS CONCENTRATION INSIDE THE FRUIT.
