INFLUENCE OF SOME PARAFFIN AND FUNGICIDE TREATMENTS IN THE REFRIGERATION STORAGE OF LEMONS.

INFLUENCE DE DIVERS TRAITEMENTS PARAFFINIQUES ET FONGICIDES SUR LA CONSERVATION FRIGORIFIQUE DE CITRONS.

Author(s) : ARTÉS F.

Summary

DIFFERENT CONCENTRATIONS OF PARAFFIN AND MIXTURES OF PARAFFIN AND FUNGICIDES WERE APPLIED IN < PRIMOFIORI > OR < FINO > LEMONS STORED DURING 30 AND 60 DAYS AT 286 K (13 DEG C) AND 90% RH. THIS APPLICATION OF PARAFFIN PERMITS TO REDUCE ABOUT 50% THE LOSSES BY DEHYDRATION WITHOUT ANY NEGATIVE INFLUENCE IN THE DEVELOPMENT AND INTENSITY OF FUNGAL ATTACKS AND PHYSIOLOGICAL DISORDERS. PENICILLIUM AND ALTERNARIA GENERA OF FUNGI HAVE BEEN THE MAIN CAUSES OF SPOILAGE. THE MORE IMPORTANT PHYSIOLOGICAL DISORDERS HAVE BEEN MEMBRANOSE AND RED BLOTCH OR ADUSTIOSIS. THE BEST RESULTS HAVE BEEN OBTAINED WITH PARAFFIN ALONE, PARAFFIN AT 2.5% PLUS BENOMYL AT 100 PPM AND PARAFFIN AT 2.5% PLUS TBZ AT 400 PPM.
