Summary
For several years now, packaging witloof-chicory in plastic bags has improved the presentation of the product and, more importantly, kept it from turning green thanks to modified atmosphere. In order to control this effect, the characteristics of the film should be clearly defined and recognisable for the various operators. A specification sheet would make it possible to draw up the characteristics to be met (manufacturers) and the possible performances (users).
