Summary

Fruits of pineapple cv. Perola coated with 2 types of wax or packed in 3 types of plastic film were subjected to refrigerated storage (8 °C and 90% relative humidity) for 17 days then stored under ambient conditions (25 °C and 75-80% relative humidity). Fruit quality parameters (colour, rot incidence, internal browning, pH, total titratable acidity, and contents of total soluble solids, ascorbic acid, soluble sugar and reducing sugar) were evaluated at 0, 5, 9, 13, 17, 21, 25 and 29 days after storage.
