Summary
The fruits were stored at room temperature (21-23 deg C) and 65-75% relative humidity or at 12-13.5 deg C and 45-55% relative humidity. Irradiation increased the shelf life of wrapped fruits from 16 days to an average of 43 days but reduced the shelf life of unwrapped fruits from 44 to 24 days. Cold storage significantly increased shelf life except in untreated and unwrapped fruits. Irradiation with 50 grays, wrapping and cold storage resulted in the longest shelf life (63 days).
