Author(s) : PALA M., SAYGI Y. B.

Summary

COOLING IS AN IMPORTANT TECHNOLOGY FOR MAINTAINING THE QUALITY OF APRICOTS AND FOR REDUCING FRUIT WEIGHT LOSS. THE ARTICLE CONSIDERS THE INFLUENCE OF PRECOOLING AND PACKAGING ON THE STORAGE OF 2 VARIETIES OF APRICOT. THE HALF-COOLING TIME WAS DETERMINED FOR BOTH TYPES OF APRICOT, AND BOTH VARIETIES WERE COLD-STORED FOLLOWING DIFFERENT PRETREATMENT (0 DEG C AND A RELATIVE HUMIDITY OF 90 %) AND PACKAGING CONDITIONS. THE QUALITY OF APRICOTS WAS EVALUATED BEFORE AND DURING STORAGE, THROUGH CHEMICAL, PHYSICAL AND ORGANOLEPTIC TESTS. RESULTS ARE GIVEN AND DISCUSSED.
