Summary

MATURE APRICOTS WERE SELECTED TO DETERMINE THE EFFECTS OF STORAGE TEMPERATURE ON FRUIT QUALITY. THE EFFECTS OF TEMPERATURE VARIATION DURING SIMULATED HARVEST AND RETAIL DISTRIBUTION SHOWED THAT LOW TEMPERATURES MAINTAIN PRODUCT QUALITY. OF THE 2 VARIETIES TESTED, FIRMNESS AND QUALITY WERE SATISFACTORY AND FRUIT COLOUR CAN BE USED AS A GOOD INDICATION OF MATURITY DURING MARKETING.
