Summary
A simple approach based on Newton's method using the Wilson activity coefficients equation and Antoine equation is presented to determine the binary homogeneous azeotropes for hydrofluorocarbon (HFC) and hydrocarbon (HC) mixtures. The method is verified with the binary systems of R-170/R-116 and R-125/R-290. Good agreements are found between the predicted results and the literature data.
