PREDICTION OF REFRIGERANT TERNARY MIXTURE PROPERTIES USING THE REDLICH-KWONG-SOAVE EQUATION OF STATE.

Author(s) : WRIGHT E. G.

Summary

SINCE TERNARY NON-AZEOTROPIC MIXTURES MAY ALSO BE OF INTEREST, STUDY OF THEIR THERMODYNAMIC PROPERTIES IS DESIRABLE. AS A RESULT, THE REDLICH-KWONG-SOAVE BINARY MIXTURE COMPUTER PROGRAMS HAVE BEEN MODIFIED TO ALLOW CALCULATION OF TERNARY MIXTURE PROPERTIES. UTILIZING ONLY BINARY DATA FOR EACH PAIR OF COMPONENTS IN A TERNARY MIXTURE, THE PROGRAMS HAVE BEEN MODIFIED WITH THE GOAL OF CALCULATING TERNARY MIXTURE PROPERTIES. PREDICTED VAPOUR PRESSURE, VAPOUR DENSITY, AND VAPOUR-LIQUID EQUILIBRIA ARE COMPARED WITH EXPERIMENTAL DATA FOR A TERNARY MIXTURE OF R13B1/R12/R152A.
