Prediction of the surface tension of fluorocarbon refrigerants.

Author(s) : LE NEINDRE B., GARRABOS Y.

Summary

The surface tension is a unique property which has been correlated by several authors, following a single power law, all along the coexistence curve. At the approach of the critical point the surface tension is assumed to diverge with the universal component= 1.26. The authors show that the amplitude of the surface tension can be calculated by generalized equations based on corresponding states. A comparison with amplitudes determined from experimental data is given. A tentative estimation of the surface tension of mixtures of refrigerants is also reported.
