Summary

ALTHOUGH RECENT PROGRESS IN PRESERVATION METHODS INCLUDING FREEZE-DRYING PROCESS HAS MADE POSSIBLE A SURVIVAL OF VARIOUS MICROBES WITHOUT CHANGE OF THEIR GENETIC AND TAXONOMIC PROPERTIES, INDUSTRIALLY USABLE MICROBIAL ACTIVITY (ANTIBIOTICS AND BIOCONVERSION CAPABILITY) CANNOT ALWAYS EMITIE THIS IS PRIMARILY DUE TO INDIVIDUAL VARIETY IN STRAIN BY STRAIN OF SECONDARY METABOLISM RESPONSIBLE TO THOSE ACTIVITIE FURTHERMORE, BREEDING OF THESE STRAINS TOWARD PRODUCTIVITY IMPROVEMENT OFTEN WEAKENS THEIR VIABILITY. THE AUTHOR SUMMARIZES SEVERAL EXAMPLES OF HIS TRIALS FOR MAINTAINING THE ENZYMIC ACTIVITY IN VARIOUS MICROBIAL TRANSFORMATION PROCESSES. THOSE INCLUDE CORYNEFORM BACTERIA, CANDIDA SP, PITHOMYCES AND STREPTOMYCETE ENANTIOSELECTIVE ACYLASES.
