Summary
The U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration believes that an analysis of the hazards of a given situation, and using given equipment, is the cornerstone of its efforts to draw up regulations. The article tells how to approach such a risk analysis, for the particular case of refrigerating equipment containing ammonia. Applied to a particular case, the analysis provides a table combining the frequency of the hazard with its seriousness.
