Summary
The introduction of HACCP based regulations has changed drastically the way equivalence between countries is assessed and how compliance of fish products to safety regulations is determined in international trade. This paper reviews briefly the provisions regarding equivalence and compliance of current European Union and USA HACCP-based regulations for fish and fish products.
