Propane for heat pump applications using brazed plate heat exchangers. 3.

Author(s) : PELLETIER O., PALM B.

Type of monograph: Booklet

Summary

Propane and R22 were tested and compared as refrigerants in a small laboratory set-up simulating a domestic heat pump with brazed plate heat exchangers as condenser and evaporator. Two types of plate heat exchangers were tested, and each type was tested both as evaporator and as condenser. The two types differed only in the angle of the V-shaped pattern of the plates. For the two refrigerants, the logarithmic mean temperature differences in the heat exchangers were measured and the overall heat transfer coefficient calculated.
