Summary

The article describes a continuous drum freezer, developed by Matal, which enables the freezing of any liquid by simple contact. Its industrial fitting into production units is presented. An important improvement has been realised with the use of a brine solution as the refrigerant medium, enabling a significant reduction in the risks linked to a boiling refrigerant such as ammonia and facilitating the maintenance and the operation of the cylinder.
