R22 in supermarkets.
[In German. / En allemand.]
Type of article: Article
Summary
R502 is still the refrigerant most used in freezing installations. However, like R11 and R12, it is to be phased out. Its medium-term substitute is R22. The author describes a demand-cooling system which was developed in order to solve the problems which arise when R22 is used in freezing installations. Pilot installations with demand cooling and 8.8 kilowatt compressors were tested in a supermarket, in Berlin.
