R22 retrofit: retrofitting from R22 to HFCs. A heat pump dilemma.

Author(s) : JOHANSSON A., KRONSTRÖM U., FORSÉN M., et al.

Summary

This paper handles the issue of retrofitting refrigerant circuits or heat pumps using R22 to more environmentally friendly refrigerants. This retrofit can be achieved with R134a, R404A, R407C, R417A, R508 or FX90. The selection of the replacement refrigerant depends on the compressor and exchanger characteristics, and also on the specific application: chilling, freezing, heat pump used for heating etc.
