TO REFUTE THE OLD CHARGE THAT R22 IS A MORE EXPENSIVE REFRIGERANT WHICH MAY REFLECT ADVERSELY ON OZONE-FRIENDLY REPLACEMENTS, THE AUTHOR HAS COSTED SOME MEDIUM TEMPERATURE INSTALLATIONS. THE RESULT SHOWS A LOWER COST FOR SOME R22 SYSTEMS COMPARED WITH MORE NORMAL R12, THE REASON BEING THE SMALLER COMPRESSOR REQUIREMENT. D.W.H.
