Summary
The study shows that R404A constitutes a partial response to the replacement of HCFC-22, in particular in medium- and low-temperature water-condensation refrigeration-production systems. For air systems, in which condensation temperatures are sometimes high, R404A has the disadvantage of a high pressure that is greater than that of HCFC-22 and of a low critical point (72.2 deg C against 96.2 deg C for HCFC-22), leading to an inevitable loss in performance.
