Summary
THE MOST IMPORTANT POWER LOAD IN THE FROZEN FOOD INDUSTRY IS THE PRODUCTION, DISTRIBUTION AND USE OF COLD. THOUGH REFRIGERATION IS THE MOST EFFICIENT WAY OF FOOD PRESERVATION FROM THE POWER CONSUMPTION POINT OF VIEW, THERE ARE OTHER POSSIBILITIES OF IMPROVING THE POWER EFFICIENCY OF FREEZING TECHNOLOGY IN COLD STORE BUILDING DESIGN, IN THE OPTIMIZATION OF COLD PRODUCTION, IN THE APPLICATION OF HIGHLY EFFICIENT AIR COOLERS WITH CONTROLLED DEFROSTING, IN REDUCING THE MATERIAL HANDLING LOSSES OF COLD, IN THE OPTIMIZATION OF OPERATING CONDITIONS, THUS REDUCING THE HEAT GAIN OWING TO THE ILLUMINATION AND IN A MAXIMUM UTILIZATION OF FREEZER OPERATING TIME.
