Summary

The investment and running costs of fruit and vegetable freezing plants are analyzed. Three plants of different sizes (6000, 3600 and 1800 tons of annual production) and three different ammonia refrigeration systems are considered: standard booster; booster for storage rooms and single-stage with economizer for freezers; and single-stage with economizer for all evaporators.
