A NEW REFRIGERATED CENTRE INWESTERN AUSTRALIA PROVIDES 30,000 M3 EACH OF FREEZING AND CHILLED STORAGE CAPACITY. THE PLANT, OPERATING ON AMMONIA, IS FULLY TWO STAGES OF COMPRESSION ARE USED FOR THE FREEZING AND ONE FOR CHILL AND SORTING ROOMS, ONESCREW COMPRESSOR FOR EACH STAGE AND A THIRD, AUTOMATICALLY VALVED, AS STANDBY FOR EITHER. BOTH STAGES USE PUMP CIRCULATION OF LIQUID AMMONIA TO BOTTOM FEED EVAPORATORS SERVING ROOF SUPPLY AIR DUCTS HOUSED IN THE LATTICE ROOF BEAMS WITHINTHE INSULATION OF EACH STORAGE SPACE. A SINGLE NON-METALLIC EVAPORATIVE CONDENSER, FAN-CYCLED FOR CAPACITY CONTROL, PROVIDES HEAT REJECTION. REJECTED HEAT IS ALSO USED FOR AN AUTOMATIC WARM AIR SUPPLY TO PLASTIC PIPE DUCTS BENEATH THE FREEZER ROOMS TO PROTEC A E D. W. H.
