Summary

Tests were performed on 2014 vehicles in 44 French administrative areas, in conjunction with several authorities; transport conditions on roads and motorways, reception in large and medium-sized stores and on leaving wholesalers' premises. The temperature abnormalities encountered were generally due to insufficient regulation means rather than operating problems in the vehicle itself. Hygiene is improving, but cases of alternating transport of foodstuffs and non-edible freight are observed. Poor driver training and limited access to information were the main areas requiring improvement.
