Summary

The state of the art of condensation process on integral-fin tubes are presented in the paper. The effect of fin density and condensate retention in the inter-fin channels are discussed. The possible method of the enhancement of condensate drainage is the application of a longitudinal solid drainage strip. The modelling investigations of the efficiency of the application of the drainage strips have been carried out for bundle of finned tubes. These investigations have confirmed that the reduction of the condensate retention in the inter-fin channels is possible by means of the drainage strip. Also the thermal experiments of condensation of R22 on the single tube equipped with the strip confirmed the significant increase of condensation heat transfer coefficient.
