Three accidents are mentioned: explosion of two helium purifiers and of a neon purifier. Operational precautions (reduction of the oxygen content, flow or pressure change, regeneration temperature, draining, regeneration pressure). Recommendations: installation of an adequate system for reducing oxygen upstream of the adsorber, and replacement of activated carbon by a non combustible material (silica gel, molecular sieves).
