Safe use of hydrocarbon based chillers and application solution.
Author(s) : PACHAI A. C., HARRAGHY P.
Summary
The introduction of hydrocarbon chillers has not been entirely straightforward. Several barriers emerged from many different sides and for many reasons. The first hydrocarbon chillers were installed in Sweden in 1996 in a supermarket near Helsingborg in the southern part of Sweden. The system was installed using an interim version of the Swedish and European regulations accepted by the local authorities. Since then, many of the same principles have been copied to more than 400 sites in Denmark, Norway, United Kingdom, Germany and New Zealand. The solutions are widely accepted by the authorities in these countries and most of the principles are incorporated in the standards.
