SHAPE MEMORY ALLOYS, AN ALTERNATIVE AND COMPLEMENTARITY WITH ELECTRONIC DEVICES AT VERY LOW TEMPERATURE.

ALLIAGES A MEMOIRE DE FORME : UNE ALTERNATIVE ET UNE COMPLEMENTARITE A L'ELECTRONIQUE TRES BASSE TEMPERATURE.

Summary

SHAPE MEMORYALLOYS (COPPER-ZINC-ALUMINIUM, COPPER-NICKEL-ALUMINIUM) MAY SHOW THEIR SHAPE TRANSFORMATIONS AT VERY LOW TEMPERATURES (20 TO 30 K). THUS, THEY MAY BE USED AS DETECTORS, ACTIVATORS AT VERY LOW TEMPERATURES WITH ABOUT 1 K RELEASING PRECISION FOR PRESET TEMPERATURES. THE AUTHORS SHOW THE SPECIAL MACHINES WHICH ALLOW CONFERRING THEM THESE CAPACITIES AT SUCH TEMPERATURES. THEY DESCRIBE DIFFERENT APPLICATIONS USING WIRES, SPRINGS AND PLATES IN ORDER TO DEMONSTRATE SHAPE MEMORY ALLOY COMPLEMENTARITY AND ALTERNATIVE INTEREST COMPARED WITH ELECTRONIC DEVICES.
