Summary

This study is devoted to simulate the system characteristics of high heat-flux LHP with a flat-plate type evaporator and a normal condenser. A unified system model including all components is developed and the node-parameter method is used to simulate the transport performance of LHP system. The simulation for the LHP system is conducted to analyze start-up performance under different heating power and operating characteristic at different heat-flux level and variable heat load. The node parameters are matched between two neighboring modules, and the whole system is well responded with the I/O parameters. The simulation results indicate the changes of pressure, temperature and mass-flux rate with the time at each nodes and the influence of various initial parameters on the LHP performance and with the results, the physical mechanism of transport process is verified and the system structure is optimized for the better understanding in the design of the high-efficiency LHP.
