Solid sorption heat pump utilising heat pipe.

Summary

Solid sorption machines are the subject of interest as potential heating systems for green houses, dryers, air conditioners and residential heat pumps with different sources of energy (gas flame, electricity, solar energy). The ten-adsorber set-up with 5 kilowatt heat output was designed and tested based on carbon fiber/ammonia pair and finned heat pipe heat exchangers to heat and to cool the adsorbers. Numerical analysis of adsorption heat pumps was done based on two-dimensional non-stationary heat conduction equations. Experimental and numerical results demonstrate the good parameters of this heating/cooling system.
