Summary
MOST OF THE RECENT GROWTH IN THE FROZEN FOOD MARKET HAS BEEN IN GOURMET ENTREES WITH MEXICAN, ORIENTAL AND FOOD WHICH CAN BE MICROWAVE HEATED SUCH AS HORS D'OEUVRES BEING THE MOST VIGOUROUS. ON THE OTHER HAND FROZEN FRUIT AND VEGETABLES DECLINED BY 10% BETWEEN 1983 AND 1984, AND TV DINNERS HAVE LOST GROUND TO PREMIUM AND LOW CALORIE ENTREES. AFTER 2 YEARS OF DECLINE US EXPORTS OF FROZEN FOOD INCREASED BY 8.2% IN 1984, THE PRINCIPLE ITEMS BEING VEGETABLES AND POTATO PRODUCTS. G.R.S.
