Summary

THE PAPERDESCRIBES THE USE OF (PROBABILISTIC) SIMULATION FOR DESIGN AND ANALYSIS OF VAPOUR COMPRESSION REFRIGERATION-HEAT PUMP SYSTEMS. INPUT VARIABLES: CONDENSER AND EVAPORATOR INLET TEMPERATURES, SUPERHEAT AT EVAPORATOR EXIT, SUBCOOL AT CONDENSER EXIT. COOLING LOAD AND EFFICIENCY OF THE COMPRESSOR ARE RANDOMLY INTRODUCED INTO THE MODEL VIA THEIR STATISTICAL DISTRIBUTIONS. MONTE CARLO METHOD IS USED. OUTPUT DESIGN VARIABLES: DAILY OPERATION COST, COMPRESSOR WORK LOAD, HOT AND COLD SIDE COPS ARE CHARACTERIZED BY THEIR RESPECTIVE MEAN, STANDARD DEVIATION, NORMAL DISTRIBUTION CUMULATIVE PROBABILITY FUNCTION AND NORMAL DISTRIBUTION PROBABILITY DENSITY FUNCTION.
