Summary
In ultra-low oxygen storage (18-20% CO2 and 2% O2) at 0 deg C, the early cultivars Rotet, Rondom and Rovada could be stored for up to 10, 12 and 12 weeks, respectively, whereas Augustus, Cassa and Roodneus could be stored for up to 14 weeks. In ordinary cold storage, the maximum storage period for all cultivars was 3 weeks. Various adjustments to the storage regimes for the early cultivars are suggested as a means of enhancing storage quality.
