THE EFFECT OF ETHYLENE REMOVAL FROM THE STORE ATMOSPHERE ON THE QUALITY OF COOLED PASSE-CRASSANE PEARS WAS STUDIED WITH A CATALYTIC OXIDATION UNIT. AFTER EVALUATING SOME PHYSICAL, CHEMICAL AND SENSORY PARAMETERS, IT WAS OBSERVED THAT THE PURIFICATION OF COLD STORES WITH ETHYLENE CATALYTIC OXIDATION GIVES A BETTER PRODUCT, EXTENDING THE STORAGE LIFE OF FRUIT.
