Influence of postharvest handling on commercial losses and quality of the strawberry.

Summary

The strawberry is a highly perishable product. It must be picked at an advanced stage of ripening and used immediately. The paper outlines test results for strawberries, stored for several days at 2 deg C and transported at temperatures of 8 and 18 deg C respectively, for 1, 2 or 3 days. The results for flavour and commercial losses are very positive.
