Summary
This paper presents a numerical model to study the dynamic behavior of a water / lithium bromide absorption air-conditioning system based on the application of energy, mass and species balances. The performances of the different exchangers are taken into account by means of thermal and mass efficiencies. The dynamic aspect is introduced via the mass storage volumes in two tanks, the first for the saline solution and the second for the pure water used as refrigerant. System performance is analyzed under dynamic conditions during a typical driving cycle provided by the manufacturer.
