Summary
A prototype of integrated cascade for commercial refrigeration (evaporating temperature -40 deg C and maximum condensing temperature 40 deg C) is presented. The structure of the system is detailed. A model allowing calculation of the refrigerating cycle is proposed. Maximum efficiency is desired, especially for the operating conditions of the condenser. The performances of the prototype of an integrated cascade using R23-R134a blend are also presented. Optimal composition is determined for given operating conditions.
