Summary
A four-stage auto-cascade refrigeration cycle is developed and the experimental rig is set up. The blend of refrigerants used was a mixture of R600a/R23/R14/R740. The reasonable proportion of the blend refrigerants is determined. The temperature in the centre of the freezer decreases successfully down to -150°C. Refrigerant temperatures after throttling were tested and analysed. The effect of the proportion of the blend refrigerants on the refrigeration temperature is concluded.
