Summary

A cycle simulation and LCCP evaluation were conducted to evaluate the feasibility of using HFO-1234yf as refrigerant in residential air-conditioner with cooling capacity of 1.3 kW considering the actual heat transfer process and pressure drop in tubes. COP and cooling capacity of the heat pump cycle was calculated and the results were compared to conventional refrigerant using HFC-410A. In addition, based on the cycle simulation results, a LCCP evaluation was conducted taking into consideration the indirect equivalent CO2 emission during the using and abandoning, and the direct environmental impact during refrigerant release.
