Study on the heat transfer correlation of air-conditioned bus exterior surfaces.

Summary

This study analyses and compares the limitation about the heat transfer coefficient of air-conditioned buses exterior surfaces in some literature, and attempts to deduce new integrated correlations. In this paper, numerically by calculating the nature and forced convection on the air conditioned bus exterior surfaces, the authors consider that there are different heat transfer laws over different surfaces. As a result, the new integrated correlations of the average heat transfer coefficient on the exterior surfaces are obtained, which were related to the convection style and the position of the surfaces. Comparing with the calculations using formulae in the literature, the new correlations result is in the middle and changes were bigger than in the literature with the moving velocity of the bus.
