Technical and economical comparison of systems with pump-circulation supply of ammonia or coolant refrigerated in modern efficient chillers in refrigerating devices.

Summary

Increasing the safety level in ammonia plant operation may be provided first of all at the expense of a significant decrease in the amount of ammonia in the plant, and in its large block. It is possible in case of changing to refrigerating supply with the use of an intermediate coolant (version I). Also improved safety may be achieved using devices that automatically control the ammonia gas content in the air of the space, and if necessary, by blocking the operation of the refrigeration system as well as by reduction of the evaporated ammonia amount per unit time in the case of an accident (version II). The purpose of this work was to compare two versions of the system.
