Summary

Retrofits and replacement of used equipment from HCFC or HFC to non-ODS and zero GWP technologies play very important role to gain ozone and climate benefits from activities outlined by both Montreal and Kyoto Protocols, especially for the countries operating under the Article 5 of the Montreal Protocol (developing countries). This paper focuses on the development of software for comparison of thermodynamic and energy parameters of an initial refrigerant, used in refrigerating and air conditioning units, with its alternatives. The software will help end-users to choose the best way of transition to an alternative refrigerant which ensure reliable, long term and ecologically safe operation of installations.
