The controlled-atmosphere storage of fig (F. carica var. Bursa Siyahi) under different CO2 and O2 level.

Summary

The figs (Bursa Siyahi) were brought into store immediately after harvest and precooled after packaging. The precooled figs were put into plastic cells in which the internal atmosphere could be controlled, in a cold room at 0 deg C and 90-95% relative humidity. The fruits were stored under different atmospheric combinations in these cells for 30 days, thereafter they were kept at room conditions for 5 days to determine the shelf life. According to changes in quality, the best combination was determined.
