The effect of internal and external climatic conditions on the functioning of refrigerated plant in a large supermarket.

Influence des conditions climatiques internes et externes sur le fonctionnement des installations frigorifiques d'un hypermarché.

Author(s) : GAUTHERIN W.

Summary

The aim of this article is to present the experimental results obtained in several measurement campaigns conducted on refrigerating plant and display cabinets in the same supermarket under real functioning conditions. Pooling of the data obtained and those from laboratory tests or predicted by an overall supermarket behaviour model made it possible to make proposals concerning refrigerating plant certification methodology and concepts for auditing of regulating with a view to reducing energy consumption. The parameters which exerted the greatest influence on the performance of display cabinets were: air change and defrosting (in the case of open vertical display cabinets). This article focuses on the interaction between these parameters and a cabinet's environment.
