CULINARY APPLE PRODUCTS PREPARED FROM SUNTAN AND EAST MALLING A3022 WERE COMPARED BY SENSORY EVALUATION WITH SIMILAR PRODUCTS FROM BRAMLEY'S SEEDLING USING BOTH FRESH FRUIT AND FRUIT WHICH HAD BEEN STORED AT 276-277 K (3-4 DEG C) OR PRESERVED BY FREEZING AND BOTTLING. SUNTAN PRODUCED MORE ACCEPTABLE PRODUCTS THAN BRAMLEY'S SEEDLING. THE RELATIVE ACCEPTABILITY OF EAST MALLING A3022 WAS MORE VARIABLE AND DEPENDED ON THE PRODUCT. BOTH SUNTAN AND EAST MALLING A3022 PRODUCED MORE ACCEPTABLE PRODUCTS FOLLOWING REFRIGERATED STORAGE FOR SIX MONTHS THAN BRAMLEY'S SEEDLING.
