THE FIRST INDUSTRIAL APPLICATION OF A NON-AZEOTROPIC MIXTURE.

Summary

TESTS WERE CARRIED OUT ON A HEAT PUMP WHICH RECOVERS ENERGY FROM A REFRIGERATING UNIT AND WHICH HEATS WATER FROM 331 TO 341 K (58 TO 68 DEG C). THE AUTHORS HAVE REPLACED R12 BY A NON-AZEOTROPIC MIXTURE. THEY HAVE DETERMINED THE PERFORMANCES WITH R12, THEN WITH A TERNARY MIXTURE AND HAVE EVALUATED THE INFLUENCE OF THE MIXTURE ON THE VOLUMETRIC AND ISENTROPIC EFFICIENCIES AND ON THE GLOBAL HEAT TRANSFER COEFFICIENT AT THE CONDENSER. THEY INDICATE THE PERFORMANCES OBTAINED. FINALLY, THEY HAVE CREATED LEAKAGES AND MADE CONCENTRATION MEASUREMENTS OF THE MIXTURE. THE EXPERIMENTAL RESULTS SHOW THAT ABOUT 20 TO 30% OF THE TOTAL LOAD HAVE BEEN LOST. THE LEAKAGES DO NOT MODIFY SUFFICIENTLY THE COMPOSITION OF THE MIXTURE TO CHANGE THE OPERATING CONDITIONS OF THE HEAT PUMP.
