THE SOLID BOARD CARTON HAS A THERMAL CONDUCTIVITY 3 TIMES THAT OF CORRUGATED FIBREBOARD AND HAS BEEN DISPLACED BECAUSE THE LATTER STOOD UP TO HANDLING AND KEPT A BETTER SHAPE DURING FILLING. HEAVIER GAUGE POLYETHYLENE WRAPPERS WERE FAVOURED BECAUSE OF THEIR RESISTANCE TO ROUGH HANDLING. THE STACKING OF CARTONS IN FREEZERS HAS SHOWN THAT BY-PASSING IS A SIGNIFICANT FACTOR, DESIGN AIR VELOCITIES BEING HALVED WITH A CONSEQUENT INCREASE IN FREEZING TIME. G.R.S.
